It is with great pride that we launch the inaugural issue of the "Journal of Experimental Biology and Zoological Studies" or "EBIOZ" for short, published by the University College Zoology Alumni Association (UNIZOA). The goal of the journal is to provide a platform for sharing knowledge and experiences among academicians, researchers, and students.
The contents of the journal will include a lead article on current topics of interest, original articles, reviews, scientific reports, short communications, research notes, biological news updates from various branches of life sciences, and letters to the editor. However, priority for publication will be given to original research papers based on experimental work and studies related to Zoology. We recognize that every piece of scientific information is valuable and, therefore, intend to provide space for the publication of concise yet important research findings and observations that will not fit within the scope of a full-length research paper, in the form of research notes, so that these are formally documented and shared. Each issue of the journal is expected to feature 8–10 manuscripts.
Although the journal primarily targets students pursuing life science courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels in colleges and universities, we hope teachers and researchers worldwide will also find it useful in their academic pursuits. Of course, the source of inspiration for this journal is the University College Zoology Alumni themselves that include renowned scientists, professionals, and educators working in prestigious institutions across India and abroad. We are confident that their contributions will greatly enrich the journal's content. We request their cooperation in this endeavour to produce a journal of our own that meets international standards. The journal is envisioned as a biannual online publication, with two issues to be released in January and July each year.
The Editorial Board is grateful to all the members of UNIZOA for their encouragement and support in realizing this initiative. We have received numerous suggestions from UNIZOA members on the quality and aesthetics of the journal. We have strived to incorporate as many feasible suggestions as possible. We are also grateful to many others for their devotion and effort in the contribution to the birth of the Journal. The enormous task in the production of this issue was immeasurably lightened by all that marvellous devotion. We are proud to present the first issue of the journal in an appealing format while maintaining the promised standards and quality of content.
We hope you will welcome the first issue of EBIOZ with enthusiasm and in the right spirit. We welcome our readers' and researchers' comments and support not only by submitting their research work but also by sending suggestions that will certainly improve the journal. Feedback from our readers would motivate us to maintain the high quality of the journal.
